Welcome! Our goal is to provide the access you need to the resources we have. Please let us know what we can do to help you. Use the information in this guide to help you learn about the CGTC library. We have many great resources for you.
How to Use LibGuides: Use the tabs at the top to get to the different topics for this guide. Each tab contains information on using library resources to complete assignments, research papers, and more. This library orientation guide is designed to help you find the information and resources you need. Remember, the library staff is here to help! If you need assistance in locating a resource, check the "Contact the Library" tab for information on the Macon and Milledgeville library staff.
Collection Overview: What You Will Find In the CGTC Library
Computers. Over 50 computer workstations in Macon and 12 in Milledgeville. All computers have Internet access and Microsoft Office 2007. No charge for printing!
Wi-Fi. Bring your laptop and connect to the campus wireless network!
Books. We have nearly 15,000 print books in our collection, including adult fiction and children's books. Most of them check out for two weeks at a time, though some are on Reserve or in the Reference Collection and must stay in the Library. Use the online Library Catalog to locate the books you need or just ask for assistance.
Videos. Our videotape and DVD collections support CGTC educational programs. Students must view the videos in the Library, but we have VCRs and DVD players for your convenience. Most DVDs will also run on the Library's computers. Click here to find out what we have for your program area.
Periodicals. We subscribe to many magazines, professional journals, newsletters, and local newspapers. Come in and browse. Click here to find out what we have for you.
Study spaces. Study tables are available in both the Macon and Milledgeville libraries. In Macon, we also have individual study carrels and a Group Study Room. Ask at the Circulation Desk to reserve the Group Study Room.
Photocopier. Copy machines are available at both campuses (black and white copies only). Copies cost 10 cents per page.
